Paul Simpson Duke has served, along with his wife Stacey, as Co-Pastor of First Baptist Church of Ann Arbor since 2001. Paul has a PhD in New Testament from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, and has served on seminary faculties in the areas of preaching, worship, and New Testament. He has written three books: The Parables: A Preaching Commentary (Abingdon Press, 2005), Anguish and the Word: Preaching That Touches Pain, with David N. Duke (Smyth & Helwys, 1992), and Irony in the Fourth Gospel (John Knox Press, 1985), as well as a dramatic dialogue, Two Faces in the Shadows, with Jeff Allee (Abingdon Press, 1992). He has also written numerous articles, and the texts for several hymns, anthems, and songs. Paul has recently completed the manuscript of his next book.
